About

OldRoger is a New York-based private investment firm that operates as a structured interface between international capital and Italian entrepreneurial talent.

We focus on Italian startups and early-stage businesses with strong intrinsic value — authentic brands, proprietary know-how, real market demand — that lack the structure, capitalisation, or connections to reach their potential. We provide or facilitate both.

We are not a traditional fund. We do not manage outside capital on a pooled basis. We act as a direct investor, a deal filter, and where appropriate, an operational partner. Our edge is knowing Italy from the inside.

Investment Philosophy

The most interesting Italian businesses rarely find their way to international capital. They are too small for investment banks, too unstructured for venture funds, and too proud to ask for help in the wrong language.

We speak both languages. We listen before we judge. We move slowly on evaluation and quickly on commitment.

Our interest is in businesses with a genuine reason to exist — not a pitch deck, not a market slide. A reason. Italy has more of those per square kilometre than anywhere else on earth.

What We Look For

We are actively seeking Italian startups and SMEs in difficulty that meet one or more of the following criteria:

Authentic brand or product with demonstrable market demand but limited distribution
Proprietary know-how, craft, or intellectual property with international licensing potential
High intrinsic margin potential (luxury, food heritage, lifestyle, digital services)
Founder or family-run business at a transition point — succession, restructuring, or scale
Under-capitalised operations with clear path to profitability under the right structure
